Description
Medical Director & Founding Physician SPHERE FERTILITY — Miami Flagship Location:   Miami, FL  Reports to:   CEO Role type:   Full-time, on-site  Start date:   Flagship opening, 2026 Compensation:   Competitive base + productivity + equity participation About Sphere Fertility SPHERE FERTILITY is a next-generation reproductive medicine practice built on the premise that patients deserve a fundamentally better fertility experience: unhurried care, exceptional clinical outcomes, and physicians who know them by name. Our Miami flagship will be the first expression of that vision — a concierge-grade clinic with an in-house embryology lab, integrated genetics, and a design-forward environment that treats patients as whole people rather than cycles on a schedule. The Opportunity We are hiring a Medical Director and Founding Physician to build and lead the clinical practice at our Miami flagship. This is a rare opportunity for a Reproductive Endocrinologist who wants the creative latitude of a founder, the backing of a mature capital partner, and the tools to practice medicine the way they always believed it should be practiced. The Medical Director will own clinical strategy, protocols, lab oversight, and patient experience from day one. They will be the clinical face of the brand in South Florida and a central voice in how SPHERE scales. Core Responsibilities Clinical Practice Deliver high-touch reproductive care across IVF, IUI, egg and embryo freezing, donor cycles, gestational carrier cases, and fertility preservation. Personally perform oocyte retrievals, embryo transfers, and complex monitoring; own a manageable caseload consistent with a concierge model. Manage complex and sub-specialized cases, including DOR, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, male factor, and reproductive immunology referrals. Clinical Leadership Define and maintain stimulation protocols, lab SOPs, and quality metrics in partnership with the embryology and nursing leads. Serve as the final clinical authority for the Miami flagship; recruit, mentor, and evaluate future REIs, fellows, NPs, and nursing staff as the practice grows. Own outcomes reporting (SART, CDC) and drive continuous improvement against age-stratified benchmarks. Lab & Operational Oversight Partner with the Lab Director on IVF lab design, equipment selection, and commissioning of the in-house embryology lab. Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, FDA, and state requirements; lead audit readiness and accreditation workstreams. Shape EMR configuration, clinical workflow design, and patient journey mapping alongside the operations team. Brand, Growth & Thought Leadership Serve as the clinical face of the Miami flagship — patient events, media appearances, podcast guesting, and physician referral-building. Contribute to content, education, and peer-reviewed publications that establish Sphere’s clinical credibility. Collaborate with the founding team on expansion strategy, including future flagships and clinical affiliations. Requirements Education & Board Certification MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Completed fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). Board certified in OB/GYN (ABOG); board certified or board-eligible in REI. Licensure & Credentials Active, unrestricted Florida medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start). Active DEA registration in good standing. Clean National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) record — no material disciplinary actions, license restrictions, or unresolved malpractice claims. Eligible for hospital privileges at affiliated Miami-area facilities. Current malpractice coverage (or insurability) at or above Florida and Sphere minimums. Clinical Experience Minimum 7+ years
