University Physicians' Association (UPA) is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our University Urogynecology team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you'll work closely with physicians and fellow healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care and create a positive experience for every patient. What You'll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist physicians with direct patient care and clinical procedures
• Coordinate patient scheduling and appointment management
• Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications for imaging studies, including MRIs and CT scans
• Communicate test results and follow-up information to patients
• Perform phlebotomy and other clinical support duties
• Accurately document and process physician orders
• Build positive, professional relationships with patients, families, providers, and staff
• Help ensure a seamless and efficient patient experience from check-in to follow-up care
