Purpose of the role The Technician will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery used in the cashew nut processing factory. The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with processing machines to ensure smooth production operations, minimal downtime, and compliance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: •Operate and monitor cashew processing machinery, including shelling, roasting, grading, and packing machines. •Perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. •Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly to minimize production downtime. •Assist in the installation, testing, and calibration of new machines and equipment. •Maintain accurate maintenance logs, including repairs, inspections, and spare parts usage. •Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure workplace safety. •Collaborate with the production team to optimize machine performance and production efficiency. •Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions. •Train junior technicians or machine operators on proper machine handling and preventive maintenance. Qualifications & Experience: •Located or willingness to relocate to Mtwara •Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related technical field. •3–5 years of experience working with processing machinery, preferably in the cashew nut or food processing industry. •Hands-on experience in machine installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. •Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. •Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and repair documentation.
