Role Overview We are expanding our operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo and looking for an exceptional mechanical engineer to join our site team. If you are a hands-on mechanical expert who thrives in heavy industrial environments and excels at maximizing equipment uptime, diagnosing complex mechanical failures, and optimizing machinery performance, this role is for you! You will be the technical backbone, ensuring our heavy assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Key Responsibilities Equipment Reliability & Maintenance: Develop and execute comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for heavy machinery and industrial equipment to maximize operational uptime. Root-Cause Failure Analysis: Lead investigations into mechanical breakdowns, component failures, and system anomalies. Design and implement permanent engineering solutions to prevent recurrence. Technical Oversight & Spare Parts Specifications: Define technical specifications for critical spare parts, review material quality, and collaborate with procurement to ensure replacement components meet rigorous engineering standards. Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical systems, hydraulic/pneumatic circuits, and heavy plant equipment. Workshop & Team Leadership: Guide on-site technicians and mechanical teams during complex repairs, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Role Requirements & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related technical engineering discipline. Language: Proficiency in French (spoken and written) for effective on-site communication and technical oversight.
