Who we are
Rangeview is on a mission to build the foundry system that reindustrializes America. We exist to break the legacy manufacturing trap by reinventing critical production for the twenty-first century. Through advanced software, deep automation, breakthroughs in materials science, and modern financing strategies, Rangeview rewrites both the cost curve and the power structure of making metal parts.
What’s in it for you
This is an opportunity to design, build, test, and commission automated manufacturing equipment that directly supports Rangeview’s production ramp. You will work on real factory equipment, not theoretical process work, and your designs will impact throughput, quality, safety, and production readiness.
You will collaborate closely with Production, Materials & Process Engineering, and other technical teams to bring equipment from concept through deployment. This role is a strong fit for someone who wants hands-on ownership, enjoys solving manufacturing problems on the floor, and wants to help build automation systems in a high-growth industrial environment.
What you’ll do
Design and develop manufacturing equipment from concept through production.
Evaluate, qualify, and engage vendors for components, subsystems, and full pieces of manufacturing equipment.
Perform failure mode analysis to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and performant.
Collaborate with Production, Materials & Process Engineering, and other peer teams to align projects to business goals.
Resolve issues encountered in production and develop and test engineering changes as needed.
Ensure equipment meets requirements for throughput, quality, safety, and footprint.
Identify and drive improvement projects to improve current manufacturing processes.
Document equipment so it is simple and intuitive for operators to use, even when the underlying systems are complex.
Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and handoff of equipment into reliable production use.
What you’ll need
3+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, automation, manufacturing, or a closely related environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Familiarity with mechanical design tools such as CAD, FEA, PLM, or similar systems.
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with industrial controls, including PLCs, HMIs, and common controls components.
Experience owning or contributing meaningfully to automated equipment builds.
Strong mechanical design skills, including materials selection, statics/dynamics, tolerancing, component selection, and related fundamentals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work full-time, W2, onsite in El Segundo, CA.
This role may require access to ITAR-controlled technical data. Candidates must be currently authorized to access ITAR-controlled information as a U.S. person, including as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with investment casting, vacuum melting and casting, heat treatment, ceramics manufacturing, or similar manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with SLA printers, furnaces, or high-vacuum systems.
Familiarity with highly regulated production environments and safety-critical equipment.
Experience working for a high-growth technology company, startup, or rapidly scaling manufacturing environment.
Additional requirements
Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
