A 24-hour Maternity Nurse role supporting first-time parents following the planned arrival of their baby girl in Battersea, London.
This role would suit an experienced Maternity Nurse who is confident supporting first-time parents following a planned caesarean section. The family are looking for a knowledgeable professional who can provide practical guidance, reassurance and evidence-based advice during the early weeks. A first-time family are seeking an experienced Maternity Nurse to support them following the arrival of their baby. Mum is expecting to have a planned caesarean section, and both parents are keen to establish a positive start with feeding, sleep and newborn care. The family are planning to combination feed and would particularly value a Maternity Nurse with strong breastfeeding knowledge who can provide experienced, supportive guidance throughout their feeding journey. They are looking for evidence-based advice, reassurance and practical support to help them build confidence during the early weeks. Dad will be at home for the first two weeks, and together they are looking for a knowledgeable Maternity Nurse who can guide them through those first weeks, helping to establish gentle routines and leaving them feeling confident as they continue independently.
Job Specification
Providing 24-hour care for a newborn baby
Supporting combination feeding and breastfeeding where appropriate
Establishing gentle newborn routines and healthy sleep foundations
Monitoring the baby’s wellbeing and early development
Providing practical guidance and reassurance to both parents
Supporting Mum’s recovery following a planned caesarean section
Undertaking all nursery duties
Candidate Specification
Extensive newborn experience as a Maternity Nurse
Excellent knowledge of breastfeeding and combination feeding
Confident supporting first-time parents
Calm, knowledgeable and reassuring
Strong communication and teaching skills
Professional, discreet and respectful
Able to provide evidence-based guidance whilst supporting the family’s individual choices
Accommodation: Private bedroom with a double bed and own bathroom
