Description
Massage Therapist
The mission of the Massage Therapist is to help guests pursue their wellness goals during the cruise.
Requirements:
• the ability to communicate in German and/or English
• at least 2 years of experience in similar positions as massage practitioner, licensed massage therapist, spa therapist, sports massage therapist or clinical massage therapist
• be licensed in massage techniques, especially Swedish Massage, Aromatic Massage and Reflexology, with several years of experience
• customer-oriented, friendly and professional approach
• ascertain the needs of guests and to sell their massage services
• the ability to create the right atmosphere in the Massage Room including soothing music, soft lighting or scented oils
• general exercise knowledge is required as as a short daily workout session will be held on a daily basis in order to improve the overall well-being of guests
Responsibilities:
• promote the onboard massage services
• suggest massage types to customers based on assessing their needs
• perform quality, therapeutic massages to improve circulation, promote relaxation and relieve stress, pain
• maintain cleanliness of the massage room and keep it stocked at all times
• lead a half-an-hour light exercise session with the guests on the Sun Deck (or in the Fitness Room/ Lounge in case of bad weather) in the morning, adapted to guests’ abilities and mobility
• assist at the front desk when no massage appointments are scheduled as well as on check-in and check-out days
• take care of working equipment and check the product inventory
• the loading of food, beverage, laundry and other items
