Description
The Marketing Specialist Events is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events as a strategic marketing and demand ‑ generation channel. The role owns SCIENION’s events and additionally coordinates and drives all multi ‑ brand BICO events and BICO’s overall event strategy. This position ensures events are executed to maximize return on investment (ROI) , generate high ‑ quality leads to support sales, and showcase SCIENION’s and BICO’s offerings in a compelling, consistent, and professional way. The role operates globally and works cross ‑ functionally with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and other BICO teams to ensure strong alignment, measurable impact, and continuous improvement.
Primary responsibilities
• Drive the events strategy for SCIENION on a global level, ensuring events support business goals, product positioning, and sales priorities together with Product Management.
• Coordinate multi ‑ brand BICO events globally, acting as the central point of contact across brands to align objectives, messaging, booth concepts, staffing, and execution.
• Plan, manage, and execute events end ‑ to ‑ end (tradeshows, conferences, partner events, physical and virtual), including timelines, logistics, vendors, sponsorships, and on ‑ site execution.
• Maximize ROI from events by setting clear objectives, defining success metrics, tracking spend, and continuously optimizing event formats, presence, and execution.
• Drive lead generation from events in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing, ensuring efficient lead capture, qualification, follow ‑ up processes, and post ‑ event reporting.
• Develop compelling event concepts and booth experiences that clearly communicate SCIENION and BICO value propositions and attract qualified prospects.
• Manage the event budget, including forecasting, cost tracking, and ROI reporting per event and across the annual calendar.
• Own the event calendar, ensuring proper prioritization, resource planning, and staffing for all events.
• Collaborate cross ‑ functionally with Product Management, Sales and Marketing to align messaging, pre ‑ event promotion, and post ‑ event follow ‑ up.
• Coordinate with external vendors and agencies (booth builders, logistics partners, event organizers, freelancers) to ensure high ‑ quality delivery.
• Maintain, manage, and order event ‑ related marketing inventory (booth elements, printed materials, banners, giveaways, demos, display materials).
• Support development of standard tools, processes, and templates for event planning, execution, and ROI measurement across SCIENION and BICO.
• Travel to selected key events to manage on ‑ site execution and support booth staff.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by gathering feedback from Sales, brand teams, and event participants.
• Support internal communication and knowledge sharing around events, best practices, and performance insights.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in event marketing, preferably in B2B environments; experience in life sciences, biotechnology, or lab automation is a strong plus.
• Proven experience managing tradeshows, conferences, and complex events, ideally including multi-stakeholder or multi-brand settings.
• Strong understanding of events as a lead generation and ROI driven channel, with experience tracking costs, leads, and outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate with tradeshow organizers, booth builders, and vendors, including contracts, pricing, and sponsorship packages to optimize value and ROI.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.
• High level of computer literacy, including MS Office; experience with CRM systems (e.g. Hubspot) and project management tools is an advantage.
The ideal candidate i s a strong communicator with a proactive, hands ‑ on mindset, who works in a structured and reliable way. You take ownership, manage multiple priorities in parallel, and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Willingness to travel to selected key events is required.
