Description
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure vetting approvals are maintained and vessels are adequately prepared for inspections.
• Support Masters with vetting preparations, debriefings, and follow-up of observations.
• Analyze inspection results, identify trends, and recommend performance improvements.
• Conduct vessel visits, audits (navigation, mooring, cargo, behavioral), and crew competency assessments.
• Investigate marine, cargo, and navigational incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor compliance with alcohol and drug testing programs.
• Oversee cost control, maintenance, and budgeting for assigned vessels and equipment.
• Manage dry dock preparations, tendering, supervision, and delivery within budget and timeframe.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance, documentation, and efficient operations.
• Contribute to crew recruitment, training, and appraisals.
• Assess risks at ports/terminals and provide guidance on safe operations and cargo handling.
• Ensure compliance with international regulations, SMS, and industry best practices.
• Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely implementation across the fleet.
Qualifications
• Captain Class A License.
• Minimum 5 years’ sea experience on tanker/chemical vessels, including at least 3 years as senior deck officer.
• Strong command of English (written and spoken).
• Proficient in IT systems and software applications.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of international regulations and marine industry developments.
