This pre-apprenticeship training prepares you to start a career in one of the Skilled Trades............Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC or Carpentry. Only those seeking  full time employment and a career  in the construction trades qualify for this training. Eligibility requirements: 1. Age 18 - 24 2. High diploma or GED 3. eligible to work in the U.S. 4. ability to pass drug screen and background check 5. valid driver's license & clean driving record Classes meet twice a week on Monday and Tuesday -  5:00 pm - 8:00 pm for  12 weeks beginning August 24th, 2026 Tuition : FREE Aptitude Assessment REQUIRED for  acceptance into training Training is in Demopolis in Marengo County. Demopolis High School Modern Manufacturing Shop/Classroom 701 US-80 Demopolis, AL 36732 Skilled  Trades does not pay lodging expense. The Jump Start program is an introduction to the skilled trades. The training starts with an overview of all the trades, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Carpentry. You'll learn your career path to obtaining licenses and/or certifications and wages on a national scale in each trade. You will have the opportunity to learn taking measurements, work ethics, hand and power tools safe use and materials used on each construction jobsite. This training places a strong emphasis on safety in the workplace . Upon satisfactory completion of this training, you will be eligible to be interviewed for employment with one or more of our participating contractors.
