Introduction to the job The Manufacturing – YieldStar (YS) Senior Technical Support Engineer  plays a critical technical leadership role within YieldStar (YS) manufacturing operations in Linkou, serving as a senior system-level technical authority and issue owner for complex, high-impact, and recurring production disturbances across mature YieldStar (YS) platforms. The position drives technical assessments, troubleshooting strategies, and technical decision-making under production pressure, while acting as a technical control tower that integrates inputs from Development & Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical Support teams to enable structured problem-solving, effective escalation handling, and factory-level technical alignment. Due to the nature of factory operations and escalation support, this role requires participation in rotating shifts, including evening shifts up to 01:00/03:00. Detailed shift arrangements are described in the Other Information – Shift Pattern section below. Role and responsibilities Technical Leadership and System-Level Decision Making • Lead YieldStar (YS) -related technical assessments during daily passdown, DRB (Disturbance Review Board), and escalation meetings. • Act as technical decision owner for complex, cross-domain YS system issues under production pressure. • Consolidate technical findings, risks, and recommendations into clear, management-ready conclusions. Issue Ownership and Escalation Management • Own high-impact, recurring, and long-duration disturbances   impacting   YS   manufacturing output, quality, or delivery. • Coordinate cross-functional resources across Development & Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Technical Support Engineers, and Production Engineers. • Identify   escalation triggers, risk exposure, containment actions, and prevention strategies to minimize downtime and prevent   issue   recurrence. System-Level Analysis and Knowledge Deployment • Perform system-level and structural analysis to   identify   root causes and systemic gaps. • Drive the development, validation, and deployment of Best-Known Methods (BKM). • Ensure improvements are standardized and sustainably implemented across  YS   manufacturing lines. Technical Coaching and Factory Alignment • Provide   technical guidance and problem solving   methodology   coaching to peers. • Support management decision-making through clear, data-driven technical communication. • Ensure technical decisions align with factory targets, quality standards, and long-term  YS   system robustness. Cross-Line   Integration and Operational Support • Leverage  YS   manufacturing insights to prevent repeated disturbances across shifts, lines, or factories. • Respond rapidly to customer feedback, quality notifications, and urgent   YS -related production issues. • Support factory and business   priorities   through rapid, structured technical assessments. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related disciplines. • 8+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment, electronics, or precision equipment industries. • At least 5 years of experience as a 2nd-line Technical Support Engineer or in an equivalent technical support role within the semiconductor equipment industry. • Proven experience handling complex troubleshooting, production escalations, recurring disturbances, and cross-functional technical issue resolution in a manufacturing environment. • Experience acting as a technical issue owner, technical focal point, or senior technical contributor for critical production or system-related issues. • Strong ability to structure complex problems, assess risks, and drive technical decision-making under time and production pressure. • Good English communication skills for technical discussions, reporting, and escalation meetings. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with semiconductor equipment platforms. • Background in 1st-line or 2nd-line technical support, manufacturing engineering, or system-level roles. • Experience handling escalations, recurring disturbances, or long-duration production issues. • Experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, or acting as a technical lead is a strong plus. • Familiarity with structured RCA, change management, or continuous improvement initiatives. Other Information Shift work: • This role supports multiple manufacturing teams with different shift patterns. • During the interview process, both teams will participate in the evaluation. • Final team placement will be discussed and aligned with the candidate based on mutual fit. Shift Pattern A team: • Rotating shift covering 7 days per week (7x16), with approximately 50% Day shift (08:00–17:00) and 50% Night shift (16:00–01:00). • Rest days are assigned on a rotating basis and may fall on weekdays or weekends. Shift Pattern B team: • 4 days on / 3 days off rotation • Day shift: 06:00–17:00 • Night shift: 16:00–03:00 • Shift rotation every three weeks • Built-in and guaranteed days off, including regular weekend time-off, through fixed schedules: • Schedule 1: Sunday–Wednesday (off Thursday–Saturday) • Schedule 2: Wednesday–Saturday (off Sunday–Tuesday) Business trip:   Emergency customer on-site support (around 10%) Inclusion and diversity ASML is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
