Manufacturing Technician Position Summary:   Reporting to the Shop Manager, this position plays an integral role in our manufacturing operation and includes functions such as machining, assembly, machine troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.   Position Responsibilities: ·       Ensuring safe work practices at all times is critical to success at Fer-Pal ·       Manual machining parts to specifications, interpreting drawings, proper use of lathes, mills, drill press, hand tools and other machine shop related tools. ·       Cut, fit, fasten, secure, assemble - frames, structures, sheets of wood, metal, plastic ·       Safe operation of powered hand tools, drills, grinders, skil-saw, table saw, miter saw. ·       Work on machine assembly, equipment building, maintenance, testing of new equipment ·       Fabrication of frames, brackets, custom components made of metals, plastics, wood ·       Carry out maintenance related activities, assist in maintaining / repairing robotic devices, motors, winch assemblies, other machines. ·       Ability to work with minimal supervision at Fer-Pal facility as well as at customer facilities and other work site environments. ·       Work with manufacturing/maintenance team to complete projects within tight deadlines, with quality craftsmanship. ·       Ability to maintain good housekeeping practices. Position Requirements: ·       4-5 years of experience working in a machine shop or fabrication shop environment ·       MUST have experience with machines and power tools ·       MUST be able to work with and understand mechanical and electrical components. ·       Post secondary diploma preferred ·       Good experience and work ethic with secondary school completion will be considered ·       Flexibility to work extended shifts, including evenings or weekends. ·       MUST have good communication skills, work ethic, Team player with positive attitude.
