Manager of  Contracts & Settlements (Power Resources) - One Position   Under general direction of the Director of Power Resources, the Manager of Contracts and Settlements has responsibility for managing MCE’s portfolio of executed power supply contracts. MCE's portfolio currently consists of the following contract types:   Long-term power purchase agreements for renewable energy and/or energy storage.    Short/medium term agreements for renewable and/or large hydroelectric energy.   Short/medium term agreements for resource adequacy.   Short/medium term agreements to hedge MCE’s CAISO load payments.    The Manager of Contracts and Settlements requires significant subject matter expertise and the ability to lead a team. This role manages the Contracts and Settlements vertical and works cross-departmentally to ensure successful execution of Power Resources Department operations. Since the Manager works closely with internal and external partners, counterparties, and Board members, they must demonstrate excellent communication skills.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY) Ensure each of MCE’s power supply contracts is administered in accordance with the contract terms.   Work with counterparties to ensure that new steel in the ground projects are permitted, built, interconnected and brought to commercial operation in accordance with the contract milestones and terms.     Work with counterparties to ensure that resources deliver all the capacity, energy, and environmental products, as required under each agreement.   Ensure that resources are appropriately shown to the CPUC and CAISO for resource adequacy.   Work with MCE’s scheduling agent to ensure that resources are properly bid and scheduled into CAISO’s day-ahead and real-time markets.    Work with MCE’s scheduling agent to monitor resource performance and CAISO settlements.   Ensure accurate and timely bilateral settlements with each counterparty, including invoice validation.   Resolve the unexpected contractual and/or operational issues that happen.   Negotiate amendments and letter agreements to memorialize necessary changes to contracts.   Ensure that key contract terms and resource data are accurat
