Tätigkeitsbereich:Medical Affairs Group Unterfunktion Der Tätigkeit:Medical Affairs Tätigkeitskategorie:Scientific/Technology Alle Standorte Für Stellenangebote:Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan Jobbeschreibung: Manager, Insights Strategy & Innovation will lead the insight analytic function within Medical Affairs (MAF), delivering timely, accurate, and actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making. This role is also responsible for advancing AI-driven solutions and automation (including GenAI and conversational AI) that produce measurable business outcomes, as well as shaping and executing digital channel development and/or omnichannel strategy based on insights in collaboration with subject matter experts and partner functions. While technical knowledge and experience in areas such as data engineering, ML/NLP, and MLOps are highly desirable, the primary emphasis of this role is on strong people leadership and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will lead teams, align cross-functional stakeholders, and work with technical experts and partners to scale reliable, compliant, and cost-effective analytics and automation capabilities into production. Core Responsibilities · Define and execute the insight analytics and innovation roadmap for MAF, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and prioritizing initiatives by business impact and feasibility. · Lead and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, experimentation, and continuous improvement. · Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to identify high-value opportunities, align priorities, and drive execution. · Translate business needs into practical analytics, AI, and automation initiatives by working closely with technical experts, IT, compliance, and external partners. · Provide leadership across the lifecycle of analytics and innovation initiatives, from problem framing and prioritization to implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement. · Ensure that AI and automation initiatives are implemented in a compliant, scalable, and business-relevant manner, with clear governance and measurable impact. · Support the design and operationalization of GenAI, analytics, and automation capabilities by providing direction, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment. · Translate complex analyses into clear and actionable recommendations that support strategic decision-making. · Leverage insights to shape and execute digital channel development and/or omnichannel strategy in collaboration with subject matter experts and partner functions. · Promote adoption of new capabilities across MAF through communication, training, and change management. · Coordinate cross-functional delivery with data engineering, IT, regulatory/compliance, and vendor partners to ensure secure and effective implementation. Qualification: • Master’s degree, MBA, or academic background in data science, engineering, or a related field is preferred. • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs, or a related function is preferred. • Proven experience in people management or team leadership. • Demonstrated ability to build alignment and drive execution across multiple stakeholders. • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and project prioritization skills. • Ability to structure complex issues, set priorities, and lead initiatives to deliver measurable business outcomes. • Knowledge of or exposure to AI, analytics, data science, or automation is a strong advantage. • Hands-on experience in data engineering, machine learning, NLP, MLOps, or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is welcome but not required as the primary qualification. • Experience working with technical experts or external vendors to implement solutions is an advantage. • Experience collaborating with cross-functional experts to translate insights into digital channel development and/or omnichannel strategy is an advantage. • Experience working in regulated environments or driving initiatives with compliance considerations is preferred. • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills in both Japanese and English. • Strong people leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities. • Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional collaboration. • Strategic agility, business acumen, and the ability to connect organizational priorities with execution. • Sufficient understanding of analytics, AI, and automation concepts to guide decision-making and partner effectively with technical specialists. < For Internal Applicants > • Based on your experience and interview evaluation, the position title and level may vary. • If you are Japan employee, please read “Internal Application Guideline” in Ask GS.
