Position Overview: The Financial Controller is a key leadership role within the finance department, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This position is responsible for overseeing the dayto-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial strategies and controls.
Job Description:
Financial Operations, Reporting and Analysis:
– Overseeing of end-to-end finance operations.
– Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
-Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
– Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Inventory Management:
– Oversee and ensure the accuracy of inventory records and levels.
– Coordinate with inventory control teams to conduct regular audits and cycle counts.
– Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
– Work with purchasing and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:
– Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
– Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the audit process.
– Maintain and update internal control procedures.
Cash Flow Management:.
– Develop cash management strategies to optimize financial resources.
Taxation.
– ERP implementation.
Process Improvement:.
– Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations.
– Implement best practices in financial management.
Audit Handling:.
– Manage statutory audits to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
– Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary.
Strategic Planning:.
– Contribute to the financial strategic planning of the organization.
– Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
Team Leadership and Development:.
– Supervise and mentor the finance team.
– Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Education/Experience.
Qualifications:.
– Should be Chartered Accountant with least 10 years in Finance & Accounts Operations.
– In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
– Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
– Experience in the Retail industry or similar sectors (optional but can be a plus).
