Argus Analytics forms one half of the advisory division of Argus Media Group. Comprising a global team of 90 analysts, we provide clients with analysis, data and forecasts across 35 commodities and markets spanning oil & gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, metals, power markets and energy transition solutions. Our work is firmly focused on market fundamentals — considering end-to-end value chains, international trade flows and macroeconomic trends. Our value proposition centres around the quality of our analysts, the depth of our data and our ability to leverage Argus’ wider strengths — 55 years of commodity markets expertise, unrivalled global networks and proprietary databases. Our fertilizer expertise is a foundational component of our rapidly growing Analytics business. As we enter an exciting expansion phase, we are now looking for an experienced, passionate and innovative Manager, Fertilizers . At its core this role will contribute to the delivery, improvement and expansion of our existing phosphates and potash services; provide inspiring thought leadership to clients; build enduring relationships with the industry and reinforce Argus’s reputation as the first voice clients turn to when they want help to understand the fertilizer market. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in analysing and forecasting phosphates, potash or adjacent fertilizer commodities; and who wants to play a prominent role in the development of the next generation of Argus’s Analytics services across South America. Key Responsibilities Own Argus’s forecasts and analysis of specific market segments across South America, contributing to Argus’s continuously evolving analysis of the industry by identifying and quantifying the key market trends and risks; Develop and continuously improve Argus’s fundamental fertilizer models, translating modelling outputs into clear market views and price forecasts; Design, deliver and improve client-facing deliverables (reports, presentations, datasets, webinars etc) and underpinning data models; Build strong interlinkages with Argus’ associated Services and industry experts to ensure market views remain consistent across our offerings; Represent Argus Analytics as a phosphate and potash subject matter expert at top tier international events and through c-suite client engagements; Work closely with Argus’s commercial organisation to significantly grow our client base across the region. Skills and Experience sought >10 years of fertilizer industry experience, most likely gained in either a similar market intelligence or consulting role or within industry; Educated to degree level (2.1 or above) from a leading university; Strong understanding of fertilizer markets, how they operate and key market trends; Highly numerate with experience analysing comprehensive datasets quickly and meticulously with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus; Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills; Exceptional communication and relationship building skills; Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Awareness of other statistical and programming languages such as R is an advantage. Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus’ Analytics Services.
