Maintenance Surveyor Location: Leatherhead & Dorking (Patch-Based) Rate: Circa £350 per day (Umbrella) – Higher rates considered for highly experienced specialists. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's largest and most respected housing associations, managing tens of thousands of homes and delivering high-quality housing services to communities across the country. We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to oversee a patch covering Leatherhead and Dorking , playing a key role in ensuring repairs and maintenance works are delivered to the highest standard. The Role Reporting to the Neighbourhood Repairs Manager , you'll be responsible for managing pre- and post-inspections across responsive repairs, void properties and planned cyclical maintenance. Working closely with contractors, residents, leaseholders and internal teams, you'll ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently and in line with quality, cost and performance expectations. Key Responsibilities • Carry out pre- and post-inspections for responsive repairs, void works and cyclical maintenance. • Undertake detailed building and technical surveys, identifying defects, risks and required remedial works. • Inspect major void properties and specify works required to bring homes back to lettable standard. • Produce clear technical reports and recommendations based on survey findings. • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works are completed within agreed KPIs, budgets and quality standards. • Plan, coordinate and oversee repair, maintenance and construction works from instruction through to completion. • Build positive relationships with residents, leaseholders, contractors and internal stakeholders, providing excellent customer service throughout. About You We're looking for someone who has: • Diploma in Surveying, Property & Maintenance Level 3 (or equivalent). • Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CIOB . • Strong experience within responsive repairs, voids and planned maintenance. • Excellent knowledge of building construction, defects diagnosis and repair solutions. • Experience managing contractors and monitoring performance against KPIs. • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with residents and stakeholders. • Full UK driving licence.
