Amentum   ha ve   an exciting opportunity for a   full time   Service   P erson   to join their team at the Alice Springs office. Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Officer –   This role will see you   p erform maintenance ,   repairs   or renovations   in   several   skill areas including plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, reticulation and plasterin g within   residential properties in the town of Alice Springs. The serviceperson also provides support to trades and other personnel, as well as undertaking duties and tasks   required . Work Schedule:   Monday to Thursday 0730- 1600Hrs and Friday 0730-1330Hrs ( 38-hour   week) Responsibilities   Include : • Perform building operations maintenance for the facility   in accordance with   established environmental and safety   procedures   a wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the Vesta contract requirements and undertake grounds maintenance activities as   required • Operate plant and machinery including skid steer, excavator, dingo, crane truck, etc. as   required • Undertake regular inspections and tasks within the individual’s skills, experience,   qualifications   and certifications • Undertake all work in a safe and professional manner • Report and incidents to management as a priority • Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks • Assist   in other areas of facilities and maintenance   area   from time to time, as   required . • Ensure, promote, and   maintain   health and safety practices/compliances at worksites and within the workplace • Other duties as directed by the Vesta Management Team About You • Minimum of 12   months   experience   in a similar role • Previous   experience within carpentry electrical or plumbing trades would be highly regarded • Considerable knowledge of and skill in use of hand and powered equipment and machinery, including but not limited to grinders, drills, saws, planers, routers, radial arm   saws   and measuring devices • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus • Demonstrated ability to   identify   and analyze issues and develop solutions to problems • Ability to work professionally with minimal supervision   and in a team environment • Working at Heights • Forklift License and EWP   (desirable) • CPR/First Aid   (desirable) • Current Drivers   Licence • Willingness to perform Background Checks, Police   Clearance   and Medical including D&A Test Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands :     Working   in   Alice Springs can be hot and physical work. Typical tasks include but are not limited to   Patching painting walls, housing maintenance repairs, outdoor tap replacements, lawn upgrades, door replacements . Minimum   Requirements   ( Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ) : • 12 months experience • At least 18 years of age. • Able to fluently read, write and speak English • Completing work   task   in a safe manner • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or   Vesta   PMO/EHS Manager • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the JDFPG Handbook during the performance of their work • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or   possess   a danger to the environment SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and   retain   the   appropriate level   of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role .    The employee will require a NV-1   Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian).
