Description
A Machinist is required for a subsea production team in Barrow in Furness, manufacturing steel tubing and mechanical components for offshore umbilicals. This contract position offers a daily rate between £18 and £25 and involves operating CNC and manual machinery to produce metal parts for oil and gas equipment. Duties include maintaining workshop tooling, supporting assembly crews, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates should possess strong metalworking skills and relevant machining experience, ideally within offshore or subsea sectors. The role also entails participating in pre-job meetings and assisting with failure investigations to ensure timely delivery of high-quality subsea systems. Machinist required to join an steel tubing manufacturing team who produce offshore and subsea umbilicals comprising of mechanical machined metal components and electrical connectors for power transfer and control communications. You will help ensure that Oil and gas subsea equipment is produced, assembled and delivered on time by maintaining workshop and field tooling equipment. Requirements Metal working, tooling machining, CNC experience. The ideal candidate will have offshore, subsea or oil and gas equipment experience. Responsibilities Operate tools, machining and production equipment. Maintain equipment and manufacturing systems tools helping drive continuous improvement.
