About the role To ensure that all assigned machine shop operations are completed on time and to standard whilst ensuring that all systems are followed and that targets are achieved and in accordance with safe working practices Main tasks and responsibilities Manage assigned workload and ensure that any issues regarding on time delivery of assigned tasks are reported accordingly Ensure that assigned work area is kept clean and tidy in accordance with company improvement initiatives (5s/Lean etc.) and in accordance with health and safety requirements Consistently work towards the reduction of waste in both time and materials Use company tools and other equipment as appropriate and take responsibility for daily maintenance of assigned equipment Regularly informing Supervisor of status of work as completed Ensure that route cards and associated documentation are completed to standard and in accordance with internal processes Liaise with other departments (Engineering, Projects, Inspection and QESH) as necessary Highlight potential/actual problems with drawings & report back to inspection Work to policies and standard operating procedures in accordance to assembly requirements, having particular regard to the health and safety aspects of the work Assisting other Production Technicians with workload as required Participate in shop and departmental audits as required Participate and actively support company initiatives such as Lean, 5S etc. Familiar with the environmental aspects and impacts of the activities and processes involved in the role and the procedures, practices and measures to manage the impact. Familiar with the risks and hazards within the activities and processes of the role and procedures, practices and measures in place to mitigate the risks. All other duties as relevant to the post Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required: Apprentice trained and/or Relevant experience within related industry including knowledge of industry practices & standards Knowledge of machine shop processes and procedures Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements including completion of risk assessments and manual handling Computer skills Competencies required: Communication skills Relationship management skills Customer service skills Time management skills Ability to act independently Flexibility and ability to adapt to change Attention to detail What we offer you As per local requirements Sulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
