Position Summary As a Machine Operator, you are a key member of the production team responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process. This role involves loading and monitoring braiding machines, inspecting products, and following production specifications to ensure customers receive high-quality products. The successful candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English to safely perform the essential duties of the role, including understanding production documents, safety procedures, work instructions, ISO documentation, and communicating effectively with team members and supervisors. Primary Responsibilities Production Duties • Load braiders and prepare machines for production. • Follow job travelers and production instructions with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met. • Monitor product quality throughout the production process. • Identify and report issues with job travelers, materials, machinery, or production concerns promptly to the Production Manager. • Communicate effectively with upstream and downstream employees regarding job specifications and production requirements. • Follow all ISO procedures and participate in continuous improvement by recommending updates or process improvements where appropriate. • Empty residual yarn from bobbins to ensure empty bobbins are readily available for production. • Assist with receiving and rewinding core materials. • Operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently. • Utilize basic computer systems related to production and tracking. Key Skills and Qualifications • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Comfortable using computers and production systems. • Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience is considered an asset. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to safely perform job duties and understand workplace policies, safety requirements, and production documentation. Working Conditions • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and production equipment. • Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and repetitive movements may be required. • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
