For more information, visit www.cimmyt.org CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented individual for the position of Facilities Coordinator for the operations chapter of the Facilities program. This position will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in El Batán, Texcoco, Mexico, 45 minutes from Mexico City. Lead cleaning and pest control service projects contracted with specialized providers, defining objectives, scope, activities, requirements, specifications, strategies, and schedules based on identified needs at the CIMMYT Center and external residences. Lead the Landscaping area, ensuring compliance with scheduled services for the proper and timely maintenance of lawns, trees, hedges, and gardens in general. Oversee the General Services operations, including the setup, renovation, and delivery of offices, cubicles, and common areas, as well as the disposal of obsolete furniture and materials (whether inventoried or not). Supervise the supply, installation, and maintenance of furniture and related accessories (e.g., dispensers, waste bins, battery containers), ensuring compliance with ergonomic standards and institutional image guidelines. Coordinate requests for external locksmith and blinds services across all CIMMYT facilities. Coordinate with user departments the scheduling and invoicing of services such as landscaping, ensuring proper accounting reclassification. Develop and update procedure manuals for the projects under their responsibility, supporting ISO certification processes. Coordinate the semi-annual inventory of tools and equipment used by Facilities and Maintenance personnel, identifying wear, loss, or misuse. Manage the issuance, return, and custody of tools and equipment for both new hires and departing staff. Supervise warehouse inventories, ensuring proper use of assets and identifying obsolete equipment for disposal, auction, or relocation to other stations. Authorize the removal of furniture, materials, and tools for disposal, repair, or use in external CIMMYT residences. Oversee the full procurement process, including requests, purchase orders, and delivery of services, civil works, tools, furniture, and other Facilities and Maintenance requirements. Ensure proper expense classification and assignment of corresponding ICC codes in warehousing and procurement systems, as well as the control and updating of assigned CAPEX or the request of new budgets according to area needs. Coordinate administrative and operational requirements of the team, including technical training, uniforms, and digitization initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) is preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar position. Advanced level of English is required and will be evaluated. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum English proficiency level of C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
