Job Title: Low Voltage Technician (Cable Techs, Leads & Fire Alarm Installers) Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (CTH) / Potential Direct Hire Locations: Greensboro, NC; Concord, NC and Durham, NC (Can cover one or multiple job sites) Start Date: May 4th, 2026 Pay: Weekly (W2) – Direct Deposit or Check every Friday Pay Range (Based on Experience): • Cable Technicians: $20–$25/hr • Lead Technicians: $26–$32/hr • Fire Alarm Technicians/Programmers: $23–$35/hr Job Overview: We are actively hiring Low Voltage Technicians of all levels to support commercial projects in the Greensboro area. Opportunities are available for entry to mid-level cable technicians, experienced lead technicians, and fire alarm installers/programmers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team with long-term potential and work on structured cabling, network infrastructure, and life safety systems. Responsibilities: For Cable Technicians: • Pull, route, terminate, test, and label Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling • Install cable pathways (j-hooks, ladder racks, innerduct, etc.) • Terminate jacks, patch panels, and network hardware • Assist with installation of telecom and network equipment • Perform basic testing and troubleshooting • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites For Lead Technicians: • Lead crews on commercial job sites and manage daily operations • Perform customer walkthroughs and coordinate with project managers • Plan cable routing, rack layouts, and installations • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to standard • Handle advanced troubleshooting and certification • Maintain documentation and quality control For Fire Alarm Technicians: • Install, program, and configure fire alarm systems (panels, devices, etc.) • Run and terminate fire alarm wiring per code and prints • Test, troubleshoot, and commission systems • Perform inspections and maintenance • Integrate systems with other low voltage components when needed Requirements: • Experience level varies by role (1+ years for techs, leadership experience for leads, fire alarm experience for FA techs) • Commercial low voltage or electrical experience preferred • Ability to use hand tools and follow safety procedures • PPE required on job sites • Reliable transportation Upon meeting eligibility criteria, Verigent offers the following benefits: • Paid Time Off (PTO) – Eligible after 1200 hours worked • Paid holidays – Eligible after 690 hours worked • 401K – Eligible the first of the quarter after 90 days of employment • Medical, dental and other additional voluntary benefits – Eligible the first of the month after 60 days of employment Essential Functions of the job: • Lifting, carrying, adjusting, moving and/or transporting of objects up to 50 pounds • Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, maintaining balance and/or crawling for extended periods • Pushing and pulling of arms and legs; use of abdominal and lower back muscles • Coordinating movements of the eyes, hands, fingers and feet • Ascending and descending of stairs, ladders, lifts, etc. • Speaking, hearing and seeing to avoid safety hazards • Strenuous manual labor The environment for this job will involve: • Indoor and/or outdoor elements • Hot and/or cold temperatures • Uneven terrain and/or obstacles • Interactions with other individuals • Loud noises • Large machinery • Small and/or enclosed spaces Job description is subject to change at supervisor’s discretion at any time.
