Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers . MCA has an opening for a long-term substitute executive assistant starting at the beginning of August 2026 and continuing for approximately 5 months. Summary The substitute executive assistant to the lower school principal ensures smooth, day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment by: • Independently and collaboratively managing administrative tasks to support the principal • Facilitating clear, timely communication among staff, parents, and stakeholders • Anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively • Upholding the highest standards of discretion, integrity, and professionalism at all times This role combines strong organizational skills with proactive problem-solving to keep the lower school running  seamlessly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Must work well with young children and pre-adolescents • Oversee daily lower school operations, including staff coverage, and respond to general inquiries  and questions • Exercise good judgment on staff and student matters using discretion and confidentiality • Manage incoming email, phone calls, and mail • Coordinate the principal’s calendar, appointments, and visitor check-ins • Arrange substitute coverage for breaks or staff absences, which may include after-hours requests for staff with last-minute absences due to illness or emergencies • Organize events and meetings—field trips, parent/teacher conferences, chapel, etc. • Coordinate student placements: interviews, kindergarten assessments, and student-teacher partnerships • Distribute communications and materials: mailings, birthday/prayer cards, curriculum, and assessment resources. • Other duties may be assigned. Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Database software, Excel spreadsheet software, and word processing software. Qualifications Associate's degree, previous executive assistant experience, and prior work in a school setting are preferred.
