Private client with strong reputation for longevity with staff seek a reliable and capable Domestic Couple to manage and maintain a multi-property estate. Competitive salary, 2-bedroom accommodation & vehicle provided Job Summary: The role is based on a private estate in Dumfries, Scotland, comprising of the main farmhouse and a guest house. This is the client’s secondary residence visiting for long weekends throughout the course of the year. Working alongside an Estate Manager, you will have full oversight of housekeeping, property readiness, light maintenance and cooking. The successful couple will ensure the estate is fully prepared at short notice, maintaining a consistently high standard across both properties, and supporting informal entertaining when the client is in residence. Job specification: Housekeeping: Maintain both properties to a high standard of cleanliness and readiness, ensuring they are prepared for client arrival at short notice Oversee full housekeeping operations including cleaning, laundry, bed preparation, and presentation across both properties Cooking: Provide home-style cooking to a high standard when the family are in residence, including dinner party-level meals on an ad hoc basis (Caterers for larger events) Manage kitchen provisioning, ensuring fresh, high-quality ingredients are stocked in advance of visits Prepare and maintain bar areas and manage wine inventory to ensure accurate stock control General maintenance: Monitor and maintain indoor leisure facilities, including swimming pool upkeep and general functionality Ensure all household technology and equipment are operational prior to client arrival Carry out basic garden upkeep including tidying, lawn care, and greenhouse oversight to maintain presentation standards Coordinate routine property checks and address maintenance issues proactively to avoid last-minute issues Manage car collection including cleaning, servicing coordination, MOT scheduling, and regular usage to maintain condition Care of chickens Provide airport transfers and local driving as required during client visits Support informal entertaining for small groups, coordinating with external caterers for larger events Candidate specification: Proven experience working as a Domestic Couple within a private household One side must be a confident and capable cook, able to deliver high-quality, home-style meals in additional informal dinner party cooking Both candidates must be confident drivers with clean licences Strong command of English, both written and spoken Comfortable working in a rural and remote location with a high degree of autonomy Practical, hands-on approach with a proactive and solution-focused mindset High standards of presentation, organisation, and attention to detail Discreet, professional, and reliable, with a long-term outlook Physically capable of managing a varied and active role across housekeeping, light maintenance, and grounds care Hospitality or yachting experience is desirable but not essential Accommodation: 2 bedroom separate accommodation a short distance from the main property Land Rover defender Pets considered DBS check required at offer stage This role is being recruited exclusively by Eden Private Staff, specialists in private household recruitment for over 25 years.
