A full-time, live-in role on a traditional English estate, suited to an experienced and discreet domestic couple. Excellent salary and separate 3-bedroom accommodation Job Summary: Private family with an established UK base is seeking a professional couple to support the day-to-day running of a recently refurbished manor house and wider estate. This is a permanent position best suited to candidates who value consistency, clear standards, and a calm, organised working environment. The role is based on a private shooting estate comprising a principal manor house and guest house. The household is managed directly by the principals, with support from an established wider estate team. The environment is traditional yet recently modernised, with a steady flow of visiting family members at weekends. This is a live-in position with long-term intent, combining hands-on household management with estate support. Between the couple keys areas of responsibility are Housekeeping, family cooking and day to day household/grounds maintenance (supported by regular contractors) flexibility to assist one another is preferred. Job Specification Prepare and cook daily meals with a focus on European cuisine, ensuring variety and consistency for principals and guests Manage kitchen organisation, provisioning, and fridge stock, liaising directly with the principals to align on preferences and schedules Undertake full housekeeping duties within the manor house & guest houses, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across all rooms Coordinate laundry and wardrobe care to ensure garments and linens are maintained appropriately Support the upkeep of the estate grounds, including basic gardening and outdoor maintenance tasks to preserve the appearance of the property Assist with general estate duties as required, working collaboratively within the wider estate team Provide occasional driving support when needed, ensuring flexibility in daily operations Prepare the property for visiting family members and guests, ensuring rooms and shared spaces are guest-ready Candidate Specification Proven experience working as a domestic couple within a private household or estate environment At least one candidate must be a confident and capable cook with experience in European-style cuisine Both candidates must be comfortable sharing and rotating housekeeping responsibilities At least one candidate must be a confident driver with a clean licence High level of discretion and professionalism, with experience working in private family settings Comfortable working on a rural shooting estate, including seasonal variations in activity Strong communication skills and the ability to work with direct principals Right to work in the UK Pet-friendly and open to rural living Accommodation 3-bedroom mid-terrace property in an adjoining village (approximately 1 mile from the manor), with small garden DBS check required at offer stage This role is being recruited by Eden Private Staff, specialists in private household recruitment for over 25 years.
