A a well-established and growing plaintiff-side law firm, is seeking a Legal Secretary to join their team in Sacramento, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal secretary who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and wants to play an integral role in helping attorneys prepare complex personal injury cases for trial while building a long-term career with a collaborative team. What You'll Do as the Legal Secretary: • Serve as the primary administrative support for attorneys handling plaintiff-side personal injury litigation • Manage a high-volume litigation calendar using case management software • Coordinate court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial schedules • Draft and prepare pleadings, notices, subpoenas, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents • File documents in California state and federal courts • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, medical providers, and process servers • Schedule expert witnesses, depositions, and trial-related activities • Review incoming correspondence and ensure all deadlines are calendared and communicated appropriately • Maintain both electronic and physical case files • Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including trial preparation • Help ensure cases move efficiently while delivering outstanding client service Must-Haves as the Legal Secretary: • Recent law firm experience within the past two years • Experience supporting plaintiff or defense litigation matters • Strong case management software experience (CasePeer experience is highly preferred) • Excellent calendaring and deadline management skills • Comfortable handling frequent client communication by phone, email, and text • Experience drafting litigation documents and coordinating court filings • Strong understanding of California court procedures and filing deadlines • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities • Professional communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude • Ability to work full-time onsite in Sacramento, California Nice-to-Haves as the Legal Secretary: • Personal injury litigation experience • Experience supporting attorneys through trial • Experience coordinating expert witnesses • Discovery management experience • Experience handling subpoenas and process service • Familiarity with trial preparation and litigation support • Experience using CasePeer or similar legal case management software This Role Offers: • Base salary up to $90,000, with flexibility for the right candidate • Opportunity to earn performance-based case bonuses • Dedicated private office • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage • 401(k) with a 3% employer match • Two weeks of paid time off, with additional flexibility earned over time • Stable Monday through Friday schedule (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) • Fun, collaborative office culture with regular team events and celebrations • Firm-sponsored outings and annual team trips • Long-term career growth, including support for paralegal education or law school for employees interested in advancing their careers • Opportunity to work on significant, high-value personal injury cases that regularly proceed to trial
