Must work effectively with the Board of Trustees, municipal officials, library patrons, community organizations, school groups and the general public. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Manages and directs the operations of a free public library, including the development of mechanized systems and ensuring the maintenance of the library facility. 2. Oversees the development and maintenance of library’s collection and all programming. 3. Recruits and assigns new employees, supervising and evaluating employee performance. 4. Recommends library policies and procedures and implements them upon Board approval. 5. Assists in the development of the library budget, controls library expenditures, and pursues additional sources of funding. 6. Prepares and oversees the preparation of accurate and informative narrative and statistical reports. 7. Oversees the establishment and maintenance of essential records and files.
