WAP obligations, IORP II governance, CAO mechanics, tax treatment, FSMA compliance, most employers navigate it blindly, most employees never understand it, and most advisors spend their careers drafting opinions that gather dust. That’s where WARREN comes in. We’re pioneering Wealth Enablement: a new category that makes pension, benefits and investing modern, transparent, and genuinely valued. We’ve secured our pension fund license, a first-of-its-kind in Belgium, and we’re building the platform and organisation to match. To do that right, we need someone who doesn’t only know the law but someone who can use it as a competitive advantage. Someone who wants their expertise to shape real products, real contracts, and real outcomes for thousands of employees. WHAT YOU’LL OWN This is a rare vacancy. Most legal experts in the benefits space spend their career writing advice that feeds back into the same slow-moving system. At Warren, your legal knowledge becomes a product input, a sales weapon, and a governance pillar, all at once. You’ll be our internal authority on Belgian employee benefits law: the person the team turns to when a scheme design question has legal weight, when a prospect challenges our model, or when a regulatory change creates an opportunity we haven’t spotted yet. You’ll work across teams (sales, product, engineering and operations) making sure Warren’s proposition is legally sound, commercially sharp, and ahead of the curve. This isn’t a pure advisory role. You’ll own outcomes, not just opinions. THE DAY TO DAY 01 LEGAL FOUNDATION FOR PRODUCT & PROPOSITION - Serve as the internal reference for all legal questions on employee benefits: group insurance, OFP structures, (sector) pension plans, benefit-in-kind frameworks, and supplementary pension tax treatment. - Review and validate scheme designs to ensure legal compliance before they go to market. - Translate regulatory changes (WAP amendments, FSMA guidance, new CAO frameworks) into clear, actionable implications for the product and sales teams. - Help define the legal boundaries of what Warren can offer and find the room to innovate within them. 02 SALES & COMMERCIAL SUPPORT - Join prospect meetings and tenders as the legal expert: handle technical objections, validate scheme comparisons, and build confidence in Warren’s regulatory standing. - Develop legal-layer sales enablement content: compliance checklists, regulatory Q&As, and scheme design validation guides. - Help prospects understand their current legal exposure (e.g. missing WAP compliance, underperforming legacy contracts, governance gaps,…) and why Warren is the structured answer. - Support RFP and tender responses with legally accurate, well-argued technical content. 03 PENSION FUND GOVERNANCE (WARREN PENSION FUND OFP) - Provide ongoing legal support to the pension fund: pension regulations, membership agreements, employer contracts, and FSMA correspondence. - Draft, review, and maintain core fund documents: statutes, internal rules, financing agreements, and governance policies. - Monitor Belgian and European regulatory developments and flag material changes to the Board and management team. - Support the key functions in ensuring the fund meets its IORP II obligations. 04 KNOWLEDGE BUILDING & INTERNAL EXPERTISE - Own the internal legal knowledge base on employee benefits regulation. - Run structured knowledge sessions to keep the sales, ops, and product teams legally literate without overwhelming them. - Collaborate with external legal counsel where specialist input is needed, and manage those relationships efficiently. - Contribute to Warren’s public voice on employee benefits law: articles, whitepapers, or event content where legal credibility matters.
