Electrical Lecturer Location: Northamptonshire Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (occasional evenings and weekends required) Contract: Permanent Closing date: 15th August 2026. An established education and training provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Lecturer to deliver engaging, industry-focused teaching to learners across a range of electrical installation programmes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician looking to move into education, or for an existing lecturer wanting to join a supportive and forward-thinking organisation. The successful candidate will help develop the next generation of skilled professionals by delivering high-quality teaching, assessing learner progress, and supporting students throughout their learning journey. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver classroom, workshop and practical electrical training to full-time, part-time and adult learners. • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet awarding body and curriculum requirements. • Assess learner work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress towards qualifications. • Act as a personal tutor, supporting learner attendance, wellbeing and academic achievement. • Maintain accurate learner records, assessment documentation and course administration. • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of electrical programmes to meet current industry standards. • Support learner recruitment through open events, employer engagement and promotional activities. • Participate in quality assurance activities including internal verification, standardisation and course reviews. • Ensure workshop facilities, equipment and learning resources are maintained to a high standard. • Promote a safe learning environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. • Champion safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learner support. • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding learner experience. • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required. The Ideal Candidate: You'll have a strong background within the electrical industry and a genuine passion for developing others. Whether you're already teaching or looking to transition from industry into education, you'll be committed to helping learners achieve their potential. Essential: • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or a related discipline. • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent. • Recent industry experience within the electrical or construction sector. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Ability to motivate and inspire learners with varying abilities. • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload effectively. • Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive learning. • Willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification if not already held. Desirable: • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent). • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification. • Experience teaching within Further or Higher Education. • Evidence of continuous professional development. • Experience designing or developing vocational curriculum.
