Learning Support Assistant Location: Birmingham Duration: Full time, on going Salary: £95 – £105 per day The School/role: We are looking for a full time Learning Support Assistant based around Birmingham to start with us in September for this full time, long-term, temp to perm role. The school is a community special school with students with cognition and learning difficulties in addition to physical disabilities and complex health needs. Key Duties: • Constant Supervision: Provide vigilant supervision to ensure the safety of the child and others, particularly in managing disruptive behaviour. • Building Trusting Relationships: Foster a trusting relationship with the student to create a supportive learning environment. • Sensory Room Assistance: Facilitate the student’s engagement in the sensory room to enhance their learning experience. • Outdoor Activities: Organize and facilitate opportunities for the student to run around outside each day, promoting physical activity and well-being. Requirements: • Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background • PECS and Makaton training/experience • PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD and Complex needs experience • Level 1 safeguarding certificate • Recent school based references • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport • Full DBS – on the update service
