Description
As a Lead Engineer – Testing & Validation at Maxwell, you will be responsible for the end-to-end verification and validation (V&V) of Maxwell’s automotive products, including BMS, Motor Controllers (MCU), IoT devices, TPMS, Chargers, and other electronic systems. The role covers validation of hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical aspects of the products. You will be actively involved in the complete product development lifecycle, starting from customer requirements and DVP alignment through test strategy definition, test planning, test execution, issue tracking and final validation reporting. Key Responsibilities: Own the end to end testing & validation activities for assigned products and ensure V&V deliverables are completed as per project timelines. Act as the single point of contact for leadership for all Testing & Validation activities, including progress, risks, issues, and test status. Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to align DVP, validation requirements, acceptance criteria, and test coverage. Define the overall testing and validation strategy based on product requirements, risk analysis, and project objectives. Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, test procedures, test estimates, and validation schedules. Lead test design and test execution across hardware, firmware, software, system, and mechanical domains. Ensure adequate requirements traceability and test coverage throughout the product development lifecycle. Review and analyze test results, identify failures, drive root-cause analysis (RCA), and coordinate corrective actions with respective engineering teams. Prepare and review DVP reports, test reports, validation summaries, and management-level status reports. Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation, test infrastructure, and validation processes. Ensure testing activities comply with applicable automotive quality, functional safety, and testing standards. Build and scale the Testing & Validation organization by defining team structure, identifying skill requirements, participating in recruitment, and hiring strong technical talent. Mentor, coach, and develop the Testing & Validation team, providing technical guidance, regular feedback, and opportunities for skill development. Establish clear roles, responsibilities, performance expectations, and technical competency levels within the T&V team. Plan and manage team capacity, resource allocation, and technical skill development in line with current and future project requirements. Foster a culture of technical ownership, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Testing & Validation team. Standards & Methodologies The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing test plans and test strategies in accordance with applicable standards and methodologies, including: ISO 26262 – Functional Safety ASPICE – Automotive SPICE IATF 16949 – Automotive Quality Management System ISTQB – Software Testing Standards and Methodologies Key Deliverables DVP & Validation Strategy Test Plan and Test Estimation Test Cases and Test Procedures Test Design and Test Coverage Test Execution and Defect Tracking Requirements Traceability Test Reports and Validation Summary Risk, Issue & Failure Analysis Customer DVP Alignment and Closure Leadership-Level Testing & Validation Status T&V Team Structure, Hiring & Resource Planning Team Competency Development and Mentoring Experience & Qualification Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in Testing & Validation of automotive electronics, embedded systems, or EV products. Qualification: B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related engineering discipline.
