  Chico Creek Animal Hospital  is seeking an experienced  Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)  to join our team as  Lead RVT ! This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who is ready to take the next step in their career while continuing to provide exceptional patient care. As Lead RVT, you will serve as both a hands-on clinical leader and a mentor to our technical team, helping foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing hospital culture. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. As Lead RVT, you will: Lead, mentor, and support a team of Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants. Delegate daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient care. Monitor daily operations to uphold medical protocols, safety standards, and quality of care. Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to help team members develop their clinical skills and confidence. Foster a positive, collaborative team culture while serving as a clinical resource for the hospital. Support exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows to ensure a seamless patient experience. Place and maintain intravenous catheters and perform venipuncture. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures. Assist with surgery and perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography. Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately. Build lasting client relationships through education, communication, and exceptional service. This position is ideal for technicians with strong emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, outstanding multitasking and time management abilities, and a passion for developing others while delivering exceptional patient care. Schedule and compensation: Compensation: $30 - $35   per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays. Full-time Benefits Package*: Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of California CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with company match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount *Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 5+ years of veterinary technician experience Previous experience in a Lead, Supervisor, or Manager role Active and good-standing  Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)  in the state of California Proficiency in the following skills: Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery Surgical assistance and aseptic technique Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement Radiology positioning and safety protocols Medication administration and accurate drug calculations Client education and communication Effective teamwork and professional communication skills Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning About us: Chico Creek Animal Hospital is a busy 4-doctor general practice dedicated to providing personalized care to each of our clients and patients.
