This position serves as a Warehouse Worker Leader located within the Warehouse area of the Logistics Service in the Veterans Affairs Health Care System performing work that involves receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general and/or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. Major duties and responsibilities include: Leads a crew to accomplish assigned projects and daily operational functions; Ensures awareness of trade techniques and practices; Demonstrates proper work methods and works along with others; Provides staff with daily tasks and follows up to confirm completion; Checks work while in progress and when finished; Discusses with supervisor the training requirements, problems and other issues; Assists in developing plans for storage and arrangement of stock; Advises workers on guidelines or special instruction to meet deadlines; Consolidates materials to provide maximum space utilization and protection of materials; Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials; Serves as a senior member of the warehouse project team when involved with special projects; Performs other related duties as assigned.
