Position: Lead Maintenance Location: Hampton Inn Biloxi/Ocean Springs Department: Engineering/Maintenance Reports To: General Manager Position Summary The Lead Maintenance is responsible for overseeing and performing all maintenance operations at the Hampton Inn Biloxi/Ocean Springs. This role ensures the property remains in excellent condition, safe for guests and associates, and compliant with all brand and regulatory standards. The Lead Maintenance will supervise daily maintenance tasks, coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot equipment issues, and provide leadership to other maintenance team members. Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance • Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations of the property, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. • Perform routine inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively. • Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems are functioning properly. • Monitor and maintain hotel facilities, tools, and equipment. • Execute and document preventive maintenance programs. • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests. Leadership & Supervision • Lead and train the maintenance team, assigning tasks and monitoring performance. • Maintain a positive and safe work environment. • Ensure team compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and brand standards. • Support the General Manager with capital improvement projects. Safety & Compliance • Enforce OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations related to safety and building codes. • Keep accurate maintenance records, including logs of equipment checks and repairs. • Conduct regular fire safety and emergency equipment inspections. Budget & Inventory • Assist in managing maintenance budgets and controlling costs. • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies, tools, and spare parts. • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred. • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel or facility maintenance experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and safety guidelines. • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills. • Strong communication and leadership abilities. • Must be able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods. • Comfortable working with tools, ladders, and in confined spaces.
