Description
Enjoy working outdoors? Looking for a role where you can make a real difference? At Wessex Internet, we're on a mission to bring fast, reliable full fibre broadband to rural communities across the South West. As one of the UK's fastest-growing broadband providers, we design, build and operate our own network, connecting homes and businesses that have traditionally been left behind. As we continue to expand across Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and the New Forest, we're looking for Landscape Construction Operatives to join our Construction team. Whether you have experience in fibre, utilities, construction, landscaping or groundworks, or you're looking to build a long-term career in the industry, we'd love to hear from you. Please note: A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. What We Offer: • Up to £34,000 starting salary, dependent on experience. • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with the option to buy/sell up to 5 days • Private medical insurance, life assurance & income protection • Cycle to Work & Tech purchase schemes • Enhanced family leave policies • Staff broadband discount (75%) • High street discounts on 100+ brands • Summer & Christmas team socials • Career development opportunities - Whether you want to lead a team or learn new skills, we'll support your growth in our fast-moving business What You'll Be Doing: As a Landscape Construction Operative, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality fibre installations from the property boundary through to the customer's premises. Working as part of a team, you'll help ensure every installation is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Your responsibilities will include: • Installing fibre infrastructure from the garden boundary to the property termination point. • Working within Openreach PIA infrastructure and Wessex Internet's own underground network. • Carrying out site surveys to assess and plan installation routes. • Discussing installation routes with customers to minimise disruption and avoid existing services. • Updating digital records and as-built maps using company systems. • Completing daily equipment and machinery checks. • Working closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure installations are completed safely and on time. What We're Looking For: • Reliability: We need people who show up consistently and are dependable. • Punctuality: Being on time is non-negotiable. • Switched-On Attitude: You must be alert, safety-conscious, and able to think on your feet. • Team Player: You'll be working closely with others, so good communication and cooperation are vital. • Self-Motivation: You'll often be trusted to work in small teams or with minimal supervision once fully trained. • Comfortable working at height and undertaking physically demanding outdoor work, including manual handling activities and working in varying weather conditions. Desirable (but not essential - qualifications can be provided post-probation): • PIA accreditations (SA001, SA002, S7, S8) • NRSWA / IPAF certification If you're ready to take your next step and help connect rural communities to future-ready broadband, apply now and join a company that's building more than just networks - we're building careers.
