About the Job: We are actively hiring a Laboratory Technician to support our Miami, Florida site. Shift: Monday-Friday day shift (40 hours per week) Location: Onsite, Miami, FL FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Requirements PURPOSE: To provide support to clinical research coordinators by obtaining, processing, and shipping lab samples daily, as defined by sponsors’ protocols, as well as Flourish Research’s policies and procedures and OSHA requirements. To provide administrative support to the regulatory department, to CRCs and to management as needed to facilitate the smooth operation of business at a Flourish Research site. Reports to: Site Director ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Read, understand, and follow instruction manuals and sponsor protocols regarding laboratory specimens to be obtained following appropriate timelines per protocol. Obtain, process and ship laboratory specimens using good laboratory techniques and following OSHA and IATA regulations. Obtain and maintain IATA certification within the laboratory and clinic. Maintain confidentiality of patient and protocol issues as appropriate and as bound by Confidentiality Agreements with Flourish Research, between Flourish Research and sponsors, and between Flourish Research and other entities in compliance with all HIPAA regulations. Promptly report any adverse events or laboratory incidents to management that occur with patients when obtaining or processing lab specimens. Ensure availability of appropriate amounts of laboratory supplies. Use professionalism in all communications with patients, sponsors, physicians, clinic staff, Flourish Research employees, etc. whether communications occur in person, via telephone, or via electronic modes. Attend required training courses/conferences to stay abreast of current and changing federal regulations and Flourish Research policies. Pursue educational opportunities to increase knowledge of the research process, good laboratory practices, OSHA, and IATA regulations. Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Represent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with all staff, clients, and vendors. Additional duties as assigned by management. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Work is normally performed in a typical interior clinical/office work environment. Travel required.
