Job Description: Lab Technician Milton Keynes £13.92 per hour Days | 4 on, 4 off | 6:00am - 6:00pm Own transport required James Grace is recruiting on behalf of a leading drinks manufacturer for an experienced Laboratory Technician to join their quality team in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern manufacturing environment, offering an attractive hourly rate, paid breaks, and the potential for a long-term position. The Role As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining product quality and food safety standards through microbiological testing and quality control procedures. Working closely with the wider quality team, you will help ensure products meet the highest industry standards. Key Responsibilities • Carry out routine microbiological testing and laboratory analysis following established procedures. • Operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. • Perform quality control checks on samples and record accurate test results. • Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Act 1990 and Food Hygiene Regulations (amended 2005). • Follow GMP, HACCP and food safety procedures at all times. • Prepare laboratory reports and maintain accurate documentation. • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory. • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. What We're Looking For • Previous laboratory experience within the food or beverage industry. • Microbiology experience is essential. • Good understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). • Knowledge of organoleptic (sensory) testing techniques. • Sound understanding of HACCP and Food Safety principles (intermediate level or above preferred). • Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills. • Own transport is essential due to the location and shift pattern.
