Description
Community Mascot Job Opportunity Become Our Mascot! 🐾 Do you have a big smile, lots of energy, and a love for making people happy? We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic mascot to represent us at community events — greeting visitors, posing for photos, and spreading joy while wearing our mascot costume! What we’re looking for: • You’re 18 or older and enjoy engaging with people of all ages. • You’re reliable, upbeat, and community-minded . • You’re physically fit and comfortable wearing a mascot costume for extended periods. • Experience interacting with the public or attending events is a bonus! Your responsibilities: • Attend community events and represent our organisation in a fun, positive way. • Interact politely and respectfully with visitors, staff, and volunteers. • Work alongside a support guide who will assist you while you’re in costume. Interested? Send us your CV and a few words about why you’d love to be our mascot to [email protected] FAQS Do I need previous mascot experience to apply? No previous mascot experience is required! We welcome first-time mascots and will provide full training. If you're enthusiastic, friendly, and enjoy engaging with people, you have what it takes. Experience in customer service, events, entertainment, or working with children is helpful but not essential. Is this a paid mascot job or volunteer position? This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity. How many hours per week will I work as a mascot? This is a flexible, part-time position based on event schedules. It could be as little as a few hours a month. What type of events will I attend as the mascot? You'll represent Kaleidoscope Plus Group at various community events including local fairs, charity fundraisers, school visits, open days, parades, festivals, and community celebrations. Each event is a chance to bring smiles and connect with the community. What physical fitness level is required for mascot work? Mascot performers should be in good general health and able to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods (typically 30-60 minutes at a time with breaks). The costume can be warm, so stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions is important. Can I talk while wearing the mascot costume? Mascot characters typically don't speak verbally - instead, you'll communicate through gestures, waves, high-fives, and body language. This makes the role accessible to everyone and adds to the mascot's charm. Training will cover non-verbal communication techniques. Will I be alone or have support during events? You'll never work alone! A trained support guide will accompany you at all events to assist with navigation, manage photo opportunities, ensure your safety, and provide breaks when needed. They're your eyes, ears, and helper throughout the event. Can I perform as a mascot alongside other commitments? Absolutely! This flexible role is perfect for students, part-time workers, or anyone looking for rewarding occasional work. We work around your schedule and provide event dates well in advance. Why does your organisation have a mascot? Our mascot helps us connect with the community in a fun, accessible way. Whether it's bringing smiles to children at family events or raising awareness of our work, our mascot is a beloved ambassador who makes our organization approachable and memorable.
