Kitchen Assistant / Domestic Assistant | Omagh Kitchen Duties • Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area is carried out effectively. • Report to the Cook/Nurse Manager, any faulty appliances, damaged equipment or any potential hazard. • Promote safe working practice in the kitchen. Comply with Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations. • Ensure that all personal information relating to residents remains confidential. • Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training as required. • Be kind and courteous to all service users of the home, providing the necessary assistance and responding to enquiries where required • Promote and ensure the good reputation of Wood Green Care Home at all times. • Treat all service users, colleagues and other third parties in and/or associated with the Home with dignity and respect at all times Domestic Duties • Clean all prescribed areas in accordance with daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules, including all floors, carpets, furnishings, fixtures, fittings, paintwork, doors etc, following acceptable cleaning practices – with the equipment and chemicals supplied by the Home. • Collect waste daily from residents’ bedrooms and all areas of the Home (excluding clinical/yellow waste bags) and put into relevant waste container. • Replenish soaps, hand towels, toilet rolls etc as required. • Observe the correct care and use of all equipment. • Report any defect in equipment or materials to the Nurse in Charge. • Carry out all duties in a competent and safe manner, being mindful of potential hazards and the safety of residents and other staff. • Report any accident / incident immediately to the Nurse-in-Charge. • Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training as required. • Ensure that all personal information relating to residents remains confidential. • Be kind and courteous to all service users of the home, providing the necessary assistance and responding to enquiries where required • Promote and ensure the good reputation of Wood Green Care Home at all times. About the role Essential criteria In addition to an enthusiastic attitude and a positive approach, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes: • Previous experience in a kitchen, domestic, catering, hospitality, or similar role. • A genuine interest in supporting older people and individuals with varying care needs. • Good communication skills with a confident command of spoken and written English. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high standards. • Understanding of the importance of cleanliness, infection control, and health and safety. • Ability to satisfy the requirements of an Enhanced Access NI check.
