LOCATION: Lewisham
JOB TYPE: Full-time (Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4 pm)
SALARY: £89.00 - £105.00
START: Immediate
Ortus Recruitment are looking for a Key Stage 1 Classroom Assistant who will support the head teacher, pupils in the classroom and help with learning and development.
We are looking for someone who has experience working with children in a primary/nursery setting.
Classroom Assistant Job Role:
• Teaching support : Works with teachers to plan and implement learning activities, and provides feedback on pupil progress
• Children support : Works with individuals and small groups of children to help them learn, and provides support for pupils with special needs
• Classroom preparation : Helps prepare the classroom for lessons, and tidies up after lessons
• Administrative support : Performs administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and displaying work
• Parent support : Builds relationships with parents to support the child's needs as well as maintaining constant communication with parents regarding their children
• Health and safety : Monitors health and safety, and ensures that equipment is stored and used appropriately, as well as making sure the children are looked after properly
• Wellbeing : Supports the wellbeing of the children and making sure there is an inclusive environment in the classroom
• Lunch Time Support and Play
Requirements:
• A commitment to helping children in their emotional, social and mental health
• Experience working with SEN children (face to face)
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting
• Open to working with EYFS
• Sensitivity, patience and dedication when it comes to supporting the children
