Key Account Manager – Strategic Customer Focus (Power Distribution Systems) Location : Upstate New York (preferred) Reports To : VP of Sales & Marketing Travel : Up to 50%, as required Position Overview We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Key Account Manager (KAM) to service one of our most important customer relationships in the clean energy sector. This role requires a strong blend of technical understanding, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate large, complex organizations. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for a globally recognized technology manufacturer and will be responsible for account growth, stakeholder engagement, and long-term partnership development. Experience in power electronics such as Power Distribution Systems (PDS), Switchgear electrical equipment, Transformers, DC/AC Energy Conversion modules, and Automatic Transfer Switches  Highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Account Ownership & Strategic Relationship Management • Serve as the primary interface for all business activities with the account, managing communication across technical, procurement, and executive teams • Build deep, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders across multiple business units and geographies • Act as the customer’s internal advocate — translating their technical and commercial needs into actionable internal plans Sales & Growth Execution • Own and deliver against sales targets and growth objectives for the account • Identify and execute upsell and cross-sell opportunities across power electronics • Lead or support long-cycle sales processes, including RFI/RFQ responses, pricing strategy, and contract negotiation Account Strategy & Planning • Develop and maintain a multi-year strategic account plan aligned with customer roadmaps and internal capabilities • Anticipate customer needs based on market trends, new technologies, and shifts in manufacturing direction • Coordinate cross-functionally with product, engineering, service, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and timely execution Reporting & Forecasting • Provide detailed sales forecasts, opportunity tracking, and regular reporting to senior management • Monitor key account KPIs and ensure performance goals are being met Market & Industry Engagement • Stay current with trends in Power Distribution System manufacturing • Represent the company at trade shows, technical workshops, and customer meetings as needed Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in electrical & electrnic engineering (Masters preferred) • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in key account or strategic account management • Strong background in technical sales or support of Power Distribution Systems used in clean energy products • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills • Self-driven and highly organized with experience managing high-value accounts • Comfortable coordinating across global teams and time zones Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience working with or supporting a global manufacturer in power electronics such as Power Distribution Systems (PDS), Switchgear electrical equipment, Transformers, DC/AC Energy Conversion modules, and Automatic Transfer Switches Highly preferred • Prior involvement managing accounts or technical programs with major U.S.-based clean energy companies • Familiarity with customer engagement models and procurement practices typical of large multinational OEMs in Power distribution systems used in clean energy projects • Background in cross-functional coordination with large enterprise customers, especially those with distributed global teams and long product development cycles
