This Junior Systems Administrator role supports the management, maintenance, and security of Windows and Red Hat Linux systems in an AWS environment, ideal for an enthusiastic learner who enjoys problem-solving and developing technical skills under senior guidance.
What You'll Do
• Support operations and maintenance activities for RHEL and Windows servers in AWS
• Assist with server provisioning, backup and recovery, patching, and STIG application
• Troubleshoot system and network issues while building diagnostic skills
• Learn and apply RBAC, auditing, ACLs, and Active Directory fundamentals
• Contribute to secure system configurations and aid in monitoring AWS infrastructure
What You Need
• Active Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience with or exposure to both Linux and AWS administration
• Ability to assist with backup/restore processes and monthly OS patching
• CompTIA Security+ CE certified or ability to obtain within 60 days of starting
• Familiarity with AWS cloud, Linux (RHEL 7/8/9), and Windows systems administration
• Bash or PowerShell scripting for automation
• Knowledge of privilege management (sudo, UAC) and AWS network troubleshooting
• On-site requirement: 5 days per week in Crystal City, VA
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, POA&Ms, or ATO processes
Base pay range $6,400–$124,200 USD (varies by location, role, skill set, and experience level); comprehensive benefits package available
