Insurance Broking & Underwriting A well-established international marine insurance broker is looking to hire a Junior Marine Insurance Broker to join its growing team in Germany. This opportunity is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of insurance experience who is looking to build a long-term career within the marine insurance market. Previous marine experience is not essential, and candidates from other insurance disciplines will be considered. Exposure to shipping, logistics, cargo, or maritime-related industries would be advantageous. Joining an experienced broking team, you will initially focus on supporting the placement and servicing of marine insurance programmes across a range of classes, including Hull & Machinery, Cargo, P&I, and related marine risks. The role offers a clear pathway into a fully-fledged broking position over time. Key Responsibilities • Support brokers with the placement and administration of marine insurance programmes. • Prepare and maintain policy documentation, endorsements, cover notes, and renewal information. • Liaise with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth handling of accounts. • Assist with renewals, market submissions, and day-to-day servicing activities. • Maintain accurate records within internal systems and databases. • Develop technical marine insurance knowledge across multiple classes of business. • Contribute to the delivery of high service standards and client satisfaction. Requirements • 1-2 years of experience within the insurance industry. • Marine insurance experience is advantageous but not essential. • Candidates from underwriting, broking, account handling, or other insurance disciplines are encouraged to apply. • Shipping, maritime, logistics, or transport industry exposure would be beneficial. • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. • Fluent English is required. • German language skills would be advantageous but are not essential, willingness to learn is a must.
