The Position:
Seeking an Accountant to support the Financial Reporting team across its European platform.
• Liaise with third parties (Property Managers and Fund Administrators) across Europe to instruct invoice payment and coding and other ad hoc booking regarding transaction activity
• Assist in the review monthly reporting for property companies, holding companies and fund entities, across all European jurisdictions
• Accounting tasks include the preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and accounts receivable and accounts payable aging analysis for certain entities maintained internally
• Prepare and update consolidation worksheets, quarterly IFRS financial statements and supporting note schedules for our fund entities
• Assist in the preparation of Luxembourg GAAP annual financial statements for the internally managed Luxembourg entities
• Active role in the annual fund audit processes
• Assist in the preparation quarterly board reports and supporting schedules
• Provide input to the preparation of monthly and annual value-added tax (VAT) returns and annual corporate income tax returns across European jurisdictions, drafted by tax advisors and review the returns against accounting records
• Perform certain cash management tasks, including the monitoring of cash balances and setting up wires for internal entities
Qualifications and Experience:
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Bachelor degree required
• CPA designation or equivalent (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, WP) is an asset
• Prior exposure to full disclosure financial reporting and consolidation (IFRS and Lux GAAP) recommended but not required
• Experience with application systems such as Yardi or wDesk is an asset, but not required
• 1-3 years of experience in a financial accounting role, preferably including industry experience
• Proven track record of financial analytical skills, including mastery of Excel
• Self-starter with a willingness to learn and grow
• Good interpersonal skills, team oriented, willingness to pitch in as needed
• Excel in a fast paced, dynamic environment and enjoy new challenges
• Strong organizational skills, highly motivated to achieve results
• Self-motivated individual with a high level of attention to detail
• Knowledge of the real estate or private equity industry is recommended but not required
