OWL Services is Hiring a Junior Fuel Compliance Apprentice! Location: Irmo, SC Schedule: Full-Time | Frequent Travel (Approx. 2 Weeks per Month – Home on Weekends) Pay Rate: $18.00/hour Employment Type: Hourly Overview OWL Services is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Junior Fuel Compliance Apprentice to join our growing team in Irmo, SC. This hands-on field role supports retail, commercial, and private fueling facilities by helping ensure fuel system integrity, environmental compliance, and operational safety. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy travel, independent work, problem-solving, and working with their hands. As part of the team, you’ll assist with fuel containment testing, leak detection, and compliance inspections while gaining valuable industry experience and long-term career growth opportunities. This role includes company-paid travel, overtime opportunities, weekly pay, and on-the-job training in a stable and essential industry. Responsibilities Perform fuel containment, leak-detection, and equipment integrity testing Identify fuel leaks, compliance concerns, and operational issues Complete petroleum support work orders accurately and efficiently Record and document testing results using calibration tools and digital systems Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with customers and internal teams Travel approximately two weeks per month (lodging covered; home on weekends) Maintain compliance with safety regulations, DOT requirements, and company procedures Assist senior technicians with field inspections and fuel system evaluations Requirements Valid driver’s license Clean driving record Legal authorization to work in the United States Ability to travel frequently for field assignments Ability to work weekends as needed Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to lift 10–50 lbs and perform physical tasks including kneeling, bending, reaching, and prolonged standing Must pass a company-paid DOT physical and drug screen Strong communication and problem-solving skills Nice to Have Experience using hand tools or working in mechanical environments Background in trades, construction, industrial, or commercial field work Previous experience in fuel systems, environmental compliance, or maintenance roles Benefits Health Care Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off 10 Paid Holidays Overtime Pay (Average 12–15 hours/week at time and a half) On-the-Job Training Career Growth Opportunities HSA & FSA Options Disability & Occupational Accident Insurance Company-Paid Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Company-Paid Travel & Lodging $50/day Non-Taxed Per Diem While Traveling
