Position Summary We are seeking a Montana-licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. This role works under our in-house Master Electrician and is a field-based position (approximately 90% of the time in the Gallatin Valley with minimal Big Sky or overnight travel), working on high-quality residential and commercial solar PV installations, EV chargers, energy storage systems, and service upgrades. You’ll be trusted to work independently, contribute to project efficiency and innovation, and help improve our electrical department. You’ll begin by shadowing a seasoned solar Journeyman with over 10 years of solar-specific experience, then move into running your own projects with support as needed. Key Responsibilities • Install and wire Ac components for solar PV systems, battery storage, EV chargers, and service upgrades • Perform electrical work autonomously with minimal supervision • Collaborate with project managers, apprentices, and other trades on job sites • Conduct system commissioning and troubleshooting • Adhere to NEC, local codes, and OnSite Energy safety standards • Mentor apprentices as needed • Provide input on improving workflows, designs, and team efficiency Requirements • Current Montana Journeyman Electrician License (required) • Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Journeyman • Experience with solar PV , EV chargers , or battery storage (preferred) • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently • Experience with electrical service upgrades and residential/commercial systems • Active interest in helping improve company operations, safety, and quality Why Work With Us? • No Big Sky grind – significantly less travel and better local work-life balance • Autonomy and trust – no micromanagement, collaborative environment • Supportive team – mentorship, cross-training, and shared success • Make an impact – help shape our electrical department and future growth • B Corp values – people, planet, and purpose over just profit Compensation & Benefits • Starting at $36/hr or more , based on experience • 10 paid holidays , plus paid vacation and sick leave • Paid parental leave • Employer-paid health insurance for the employee • Dental, vision, and Aflac supplemental insurance • 401(k) with 4% employer match • Cell phone reimbursement • 40 hours of paid training per year • Paid volunteer time • Per diem and hardship pay for occasional out-of-town work • Year-end performance bonus • Opportunities to lead and mentor apprentices Ready to Join the Team?
