We are seeking Consultant Physicians in Internal Medicine and/or Acute Internal Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team as we design, develop and deliver the next generation of emergency services in Iceland working in a leading university hospital committed to innovation, education, and research. The position is full-time (100%) or as otherwise agreed and is available immediately or by mutual agreement. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: • Clinical work across inpatient wards, the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU), and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services • Participation in the General Internal Medicine inpatient admitting team • Participation in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota • Teaching and supervision of medical students and resident doctors in training • Opportunities to participate in research activities • Participation in quality improvement and patient safety initiative • Contributing to the ongoing development of Acute Medicine and General Internal Medicine services QUALIFICATIONS: • Specialist registration (or equivalent) in General Internal Medicine, Acute Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine/General Practice with an emphasis on Acute Care • Broad clinical experience in Acute and/or General Internal Medicine • Excellent communication and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team • A commitment to quality improvement, innovation and the development of high-value healthcare services.
