Description
We are delighted to be partnering with an established fashion supplier based in Leicester to recruit a talented Jersey & Woven Designer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful, fast-paced business that designs and supplies high-quality womenswear to leading UK retailers. Based in Leicester, this role is ideal for a creative and commercially minded Designer with a strong understanding of the mature womenswear market. You will be designing quality-led jersey and woven collections, creating timeless, wearable products that combine trend awareness with commercial appeal. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will play a key role in developing collections from initial concept through to production. Main Responsibilities Will Include: • Designing commercial jersey and woven collections for established UK retail customers. • Conducting seasonal trend, colour, fabric and competitor research to inspire new product development. • Creating CADs, technical drawings and presentation boards for customer meetings. • Developing commercially relevant ranges tailored to an older customer demographic, with a focus on quality, fit and wearability. • Working closely with fabric suppliers to source innovative and suitable fabrics and trims. • Attending customer meetings to present new collections and respond to design briefs. • Supporting the development process from concept through to final production. • Monitoring fashion and retail trends while maintaining a strong commercial focus. Person Specifications: • Previous experience working as a Jersey & Woven Designer within a fashion supplier or retailer. • Strong commercial handwriting with experience designing for the womenswear market. • Excellent understanding of jersey and woven fabrics, garment construction and fit. • Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. • Excellent CAD and presentation skills. • Ability to interpret customer briefs and translate them into commercially successful product. • Confident communicator with experience presenting ranges to customers.
