Description
Parachute Health is a healthcare technology company transforming post-acute care through a digital ordering platform for medical equipment and supplies. This contract role is part of the IT & Security team, where you will support identity, endpoint, network, and cloud security operations while gaining hands-on exposure to compliance and incident response in a healthcare environment governed by SOC 1, SOC 2, and HITRUST CSF. What You'll Do • Manage IT operations and endpoint support including user onboarding/off-boarding, hardware provisioning, troubleshooting tickets, and end-user support across Mac, Linux, and Windows environments • Support identity and access management through Okta administration, user lifecycle management, SSO/MFA configuration, and periodic access reviews • Assist with network and security tooling including ZScaler operations, DLP policy maintenance, AWS WAFv2 / Akamai WAF rule review, and SIEM operations in Splunk/Wazuh • Write and maintain scripts to automate IT and Security tasks such as log analysis, evidence collection, ticket enrichment, and reporting • Contribute to AI and agentic workflows the team has built, including MCP servers and Claude-based runbooks to accelerate investigations What You Need • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Assurance, IT Management, or related field • Scripting experience in at least one of Bash, Python, or PowerShell • Working knowledge of Linux command line, file system navigation, permissions, process management, and log inspection tools (grep, awk, sed, tail, journalctl) • Comfort with macOS as a daily-driver OS and basic troubleshooting on Mac • Solid IT troubleshooting fundamentals, networking basics (DNS, DHCP, VPN, TLS), authentication flows (SAML, OAuth, MFA), and hardware/software support • Comfort using Git, GitHub, and the terminal • Must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work without visa sponsorship Nice to Have • Hands-on exposure to Okta, ZScaler, Jamf, Kandji, Intune, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Splunk, Wazuh, AWS, or GCP through academic labs, home labs, or personal projects • Familiarity with DLP concepts, WAF concepts (OWASP Top 10, rule tuning), or SIEM querying • Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST CSF, or ISO 27001 • Experience with LLMs, agents, MCP servers, or prompt engineering through projects, hackathons, or coursework • SQL skills for querying data, participation in CTFs or similar cybersecurity challenges, or a public GitHub portfolio with scripts and automations Hourly pay based on experience and level
